>demanding $15/hr to flip burgers
Meanwhile people with actual jobs in skill trades etc some requiring a degree, are wishing they got 15 lmao
Following is the average hourly wage. Some get less pay, some more.
Assemblers and Fabricators:
$11-15/hr for the bottom 15% or so of them
Delivery Truck Drivers:
EMT’s and Paramedics:
Home Health Aides:
Nursing Assistant and Orderlies:
You should see some of the jobs that pay just over $15/hr. Hazardous Waste Removers get $18/hr. For just $3 more dollars they deal with all kinds of nasty lethal and dangerous crap. Would rather flip burgers for $15/hr and get my raises in safety.
I can already see it now. People are forced to pay $15/hr while at the same time letting go some employees and raising prices of their products and services to compensate lmao.
Why not pay people $100/hr? Or $1,000? Or $1,000,000?
I dont mind getting paid a mil only to blow 50k on a hamburger.

I started being a fire fighter at $7.77 an hour now four years later I make $9.39 an hour .
BLESS THIS FUCKING POST!!!!
I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR THE LONGEST
so was that whole removing of your soul by the devil and deciding to be a fucking piece of shit asshole hard or are you people all assimilating fine together and making these posts to test how much you can not give a fuck about other people now
Truly so fucking stupid.
EMTs/Paramedics are making $14.91/hr?! WHAT COMPANY AND WHAT COUNTY IS THIS?! Starting pay for Rural/Metro Ambulance Company has a starting pay of around $11/hr, and that’s the biggest and most popular company in the Bay Area. Falk Ambulance Company is the only company I know of that has pay/benefits close to that. That company even itself is hard to get into and is only barely starting to get accounts in California (them being a new company recent in the US for less than 10years). To become a paramedic/firefighter is a long road with a lot of extensive hours of clinical work and massive amounts of studying (just like every other medical profession).
AND YOURE TELLING ME MINIMUM WAGE IS EXPECTING TO BUMP TO $15/HOUR?!
To do so is a disgrace to the collegiate system and A shame of pursuing a degree to better oneself and their abilities. I understand minimum wage is important but it should be a stepping stone to further endeavors instead of a pay demanding job. The value of flipping burgers is trying to be more heavily weighed than the value of saving lives? I understand school isn’t for everyone but What’s the point in educating you’re children or even trying to push them to make something of themselves?
Fuck that, fuck that very very much.
My parents didn’t move half way across the world so I could just flip fucking burgers. By increasing minimum wage by such a degree would mean more people settling down and being comfortable living mediocre jobs. There is no shame in working minimum wage jobs (hell I work practically three) but there is shame in staying in a comfortable place and trying to squeeze out more than what’s being bargained/demanded for. I believe in struggle and cause to gain privileges and things worth fighting for but I strongly disbelieve that this is worth the efforts.
That’s just my opinion.
